The first week

The first week after a special delivery of a special litter, was relaxed.

Most important thing in the first week is that mother and puppies are well.

The puppies have to gain weight. They did, even after just one night.  It wouldn't have been strange if they wouldn't have then already.  The noises from the whelping box show that the puppies are satisfied.

Mummy Rosie is also fine. She eats and drinks very well and she is a wonderfull caring mummy.  The usual diarrhoea after giving birth, was gone at the end of the week. After several days Rosie has learned that she can take some time off for herself. She goes out of the whelping box and lies down on her own bed.

In the morning as I do the cleaning, the puppies need to move for some time. They love to lay with Rosie in her bed.

On the last day of this week, Brigitte and Verena, the breeding consultants of the RZV, came to visit. They were satisfied about the litter and were very happy to hear that all puppies already found their forever homes.  Brigitte and Verena, thank you.
